I received my pack from my accounting for non-accounting managers online program this week, and I decided to start my studies. I have decided that I need to have a schedule in order to be able to do this properly, so I get out of bed an hour early on a Tuesday and a Friday, and devote three more hours over the weekend. As this is a relatively short program, and some of the exercises I will be doing in conjunction with my own work, this is a realistic amount of time to devote to study.
I spent the first session downloading the first module, and simply reading through it. I felt I had to gain an idea of what was expected of me, and how much time I would need to work with the course materials. I had a couple of questions for my tutor, so I emailed them, and planned the timetable for the module.
My second session I decided to devote to the first practical exercise. This session was today, I had two hours to spend on the practical - and I needed it. Although I was handling some areas that I already have knowledge of, I found that I learned much that I had missed during my work. Great - this will give me some material to use during my work this next week, and my client will be getting that much more value from my input.
