I sat down to write my blog this morning, and for a change I found it really difficult to work. Normally I've got something to say, and I just say it, but for the last day or two I've not been able to concentrate on anything really. So I thought I would share some techniques for working when you don't want to, but it's up to you to provide the oomph to make yourself - really useful if you need to study your online program.
First, I make a list of everything I need to do - both work and personal. I will make sure that I do something that is easy and quick, and tick it off the list. This means that I've started work, so I can continue. Next, I find something that I really don't want to do, and I do it - now I'm starting to feel that I've got the bit between my teeth. So I go for the task that I really have to get done now, and I stick to it - even if I'm interrupted, or I give in to a bout of games playing. I make sure that I finish it before I finish work.
I have to say it can be exhausting, but the problem of not doing studying is worse - I'm not just wasting my money, I also am wasting all the opportunities that will come along when I finish my online program. So a little gritting of teeth is worth it, and I also find that next day it's easier, because I managed it all yesterday.
