Decorations Online

Hmmm, I just found an online "course" about decorating office doors for the holidays. It had some great suggestions about how to create 3D Xmas trees, how to position reindeers so that they appeared to be entering the door from the ceiling, and how to do a Scrooge type door-knocker with the face of Marley's ghost.

One has to wonder who has the time to create these online courses, and who also has the time to study them. However, they do seem like fun.

Online Training is a Yes for Industry

Did you know that some 61% of all commercial training providers now create online training as well as their traditional training programs? The Learning Consultancy reports that most commercial training establishments have recognized the value of delivering training in different ways, and so many of them are using e-learning as a method of delivering their training programs.

These online programs are much in demand, particularly for work-based skills training. Online programs allow trainees to do their training in the work place, and so minimizes disruption to the working day. Online courses also allow trainees to use familiar tools and surroundings to help with their learning, thus maximizing the gaining of skills.

Online Santa

I foolishly decided to try to get into the Holiday spirit this weekend. I looked on the web for online courses for Santa Claus - and to my surprise (I don't know why, I should know by now that there is an online course for almost everything in the known universe) there were a number of websites that catered for this - well, not exactly on how to be Santa Claus, but at least something germane to the topic.

Of the 2,730,000 responses I googled, I saw several that dealt with a variety of histories of Santa Claus, a year without Santa Claus, the physics of Santa Claus, and Santa Claus and the Martians.

My personal favorite is the physics of Santa Claus, which asks the opinion of three eminent physics professors and an elf expert. They maintain that with the aid of either 11 or 23 dimensions, it's easy for Santa Claus to visit every child. Personally, I just take it on faith.
