Online living

I'm counting down the days to Christmas, and with full time employment and some studying on top, I realize that I haven't bought all the presents that I need. At this point I will have no chance to go shopping, so it's online or nothing.

Actually e-commerce is such a life saver for me. I order books, music and clothes, food and presents more online than I do in the shops. I'm beginning to realize that the revolution of the last ten years has changed my life more than I could imagine - working, studying and shopping online.

Training Downtime

I don't know how you feel about holidays, but my attitude is that if I'm on holiday, I don't want to be involved at all with work. But this holiday I'm planning not to take work home, but to do some of my training for work online. This means that I can think about work without having all the interruptions that happen on a daily basis, but in the abstract, allowing me to think critically about many of the jobs I do on a regular basis.

I find that online training for work does allow me the space to appraise what I do and how I do it by removing me from the daily environment, but putting me in a situation where I am absorbed by the work "environment". One more plus for online training!!

Thinking Qualifications

Why do employers want to employ people with degrees? Well, when you study for a degree, you are not just acquiring more facts and knowledge. Indeed, facts (or information that you memorize) are almost irrelevant to a higher qualification. What you need to learn is how to acquire knowledge, and how to use it.

A Bachelor's degree will equip you with the ability to store information, to analyze it and to produce it to help you make decisions. A graduate qualification will help you to go further. You will learn to use the analysis you have made as the basis for sophisticated synthesis of ideas - helping you to reach innovative and original solutions to problems. Studying an online degree will change the way you think.
