I'm in the middle of changing jobs at the moment, moving from the middle of the South Island to the top of the North Island in New Zealand - so I'm also changing homes. Travelling is really good for sorting out thoughts for me, so I'm spending quite a lot of time working out what my thesis is going to look like for my online degree.
I'm taking some 7 days about this thousand mile journey, stopping at motels on the way, and today I crossed the Cook Straits on the car ferry. I spent much of the time looking out at the sea, and thinking about what I really wanted to say for the thesis. It could be my one chance to throw some ideas that have been evolving during a thirty year career into an arena where someone may notice, so I have to give it my best go.
I'm not sure if the bout of sea-sickness helped or not.
