Of course, having written about the bad patch I was experiencing in my online studies, I immediately become motivated to do good work. I've just spent some hours researching a particular topic, and found so much material that I could write a whole dissertation on it.

I do love that surprise when you suddenly find that you can work, and you wonder what on earth made you feel so hopeless. I've just become entirely motivated again, and I feel like I'll be able to finish this module in no time flat.

Of course, this depends on the educational establishment being able to deliver the same content in the two modes, but in fact many universities and colleges are doing just that. This flexibility helps students to be able to study to their own strengths. It also can speed up study for some people, allowing them to pace their degree or other program to suit themselves.
