Online College Course ForumWednesday, June 28, 2006Full Knowledge Retention
Online learning is a great way of making sure that you can retain all the information available on your education program. For many students, taking notes and retaining the information that is delivered in a lecture can be a problem. It is normal only to retain 20% of information that is delivered to us at any time, and most people have an attention span of around 20 minutes maximum.
Online courses deliver much of their information in a written form - albeit electronically. This means that you can absorb the information in your own time, and it is all there for further study when you need it. One more reason to seriously consider online learning as an option for your degree. Sunday, June 25, 2006Maximizing Time
I'm quite interested to see how increasingly online learning is used to deliver more than one program at a time. For instance, if you are studying a degree in information technology, many institutions give you the opportunity to gain certification in one or more of the specialist technician areas, for instance the Microsoft technician certificates or Novell or Oracle certification.
This is a really good way of gaining your basic education in the form of your degree, and good job specific training that will give the first stages of your career a real head start. Many educational establishments use online learning in a variety of flexible ways, allowing you to maximize your education in terms of both time and cost. Two in the time of one can't be bad.
