I've been looking at some online materials for creative writing. This is an area that I'm personally interested in, but I don't have time to do myself. However, I'm working with a creative writing department in my institution, and they are interested in setting up an online program to help them reach students who are geographically dispersed and don't have easy access to the institution they want to study with.
We looked at some really exciting materials, with lots of different approaches to stimulating learning in this area. The overall impression I was left with was that the materials were focussed on learning not on teaching, so students were thinking about what they were doing rather than what they were being taught.
Great focus for online learning, as it really makes people learn for themselves - actually ultimately the only way you do learn.
